About LaShawn

From Pain to Purpose

Growing up as a child, there were two things LaShawn McCrary wanted to do: help people and travel.

LaShawn graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in 1991 and Bowling Green State University in 1995. She began her college career as a film major but the program was discontinued before she finished her sophomore year. She was dsappointed, but chose to stay at Bowling Green and changed her major to Communications.

After graduation, she worked as a secretary before landing her first career related job as a part-time director at a local television station. After three months on the job, she was promoted to full-time. LaShawn enjoyed directing newscasts, but soon grew disenchanted and eventually began to greatly dislike the politics and everyday work related issues.

In the years to follow, she worked in sales, customer service, physical fitness and ministry. Although she was passionate and enjoyed personal training and being in ministry, somehow, the "workplace" misery remained with her, regardless of the job or field she entered. She was constantly looking out the window thinking she should be somewhere else, doing something different. LaShawn believed that God had created her for a purpose; she just didn't know what it was. She looked around her but kept coming up empty until the day she decided to look inside herself.

While reading "48 Days to the Work You Love" by Dan Miller, LaShawn discovered that she was destined to motivate and empower others by meeting them where they are, filling their needs, and serving as their bridge to greatness. Through her sleepless nights, workplace drama, passion, and anointing from God, she embarked on her journey to become a Motivational Messenger and Wholeness Coach. Assigned to the marketplace, she understands the need and importance of helping people tap into themselves, and connect with their purpose.

Known for her high energy and passion, she has been instrumental in helping people across the country become better individuals and lead more fulfilling lives. LaShawn is dedicated to helping others become “whole” by empowering them to take control of their destiny and experience spiritual, professional, social, intellectual, physical and personal completeness.

LaShawn is not only a teacher, but a student under the tutelage of her mentor, Tawana Williams, who is internationally known for her best selling book "Unarmed But Dangerous". Tawana is an author, motivational speaker, life coach and a Les Brown Platinum Speaker. She has been instrumental in helping LaShawn become the powerful Motivational Messenger that she is through her love, dedication and wise counsel.
